Raymon has been with One Refugee since 2017 and has been working with individuals from a refugee background in various capacities for the last six years. He recently worked for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in developing their refugee initiatives and spent half of 2016 embedded within the International Rescue Committee.
With a background in both social work and education, Jennifer has spent her career in education, working to improve educational opportunities for all students. She has served on several non-profit boards.
Kirsi's interest with refugee and cross-cultural empowerment began while supporting international exchange programs for world leaders in Washington, D.C. Soon after, she connected with Upwardly Global, providing volunteer support for immigrant and refugee professionals. She works with the 1R team to manage professional development opportunities for One Refugee students including networking events, resume workshops, and interview preparation. Kirsi is currently completing her Master of Public Administration degree from BYU.
Elisabeth recently completed a Master’s in Public Administration with an emphasis in nonprofit management. She spent the last year working with immigrant, transient, and refugee services at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; volunteering on the board of a local refugee nonprofit; and experiencing the realities of the refugee crisis in Europe first-hand. She is passionate about connecting refugees with the opportunities and resources they need to succeed.
Sarah's desire to work with refugees began in 2013 while visiting an exhibit which displayed art from Syrian children who were then refugees living in Jordan. She spent six years learning about the many phases of a refugee's journey through her roles supporting refugee women and infants in refugee camps in Thessaloniki, Greece, volunteering as a family mentor with local refugee families, and capturing first-hand accounts of refugees' experiences as an oral historian. She now supports 100+ motivated students in her role as Education Manager and Mental Health Liaison at One Refugee.
